Innovation and Future trends in Foodservice

Dr Karen Abbey- PASA Conference Reflection

What a fantastic day I had at the PASA conference. All the speakers were first class covering a range of topics to help aged care homes reduce costs and be aware of changes to the aged care standards. Procurement is a vital aspect of aged care foodservices and there were a number of sessions exploring topics including:

  • How to arrange a contract in foodservice procurement
  • Why using aggregated procurement solutions is a must for all aged care homes

It was a pleasure spending time helping upskill the aged care sector in foodservice procurement. My PASA presentation focused on:

  • Why is foodservice procurement important
  • The ways aged care homes can get the procurement process started

Why procure through Church Resources?

The aggregated procurement process with Church Resources comes at no cost to your organisation and can provide your home with essential cost benchmarking. Finding out how your costs stack up and if there is any potential for savings is not only smart business but also gives you a sense of how the market is performing. We all want to save money and do the very best we can with our resources.

Apart from the potential savings, Church Resources’ foodservice solution also seeks to provide members with educational content. For example, our YouTube ‘CR Kitchen’ video series, is a free and educational resource you can use to find simple and nutritious ways for your organisation to introduce choice in meal and menu planning. Did we mention these videos come with free recipes on exactly how to cook each dish we showcase? I (Dr Karen Abbey) am  also available for a range of other services to assist your organisation in foodservices. Contact me below to learn more about what I can offer.
