Australia Bushfire Support

As you know, Australia has been devastated by unprecedented bush fires this season. With lives lost and homes being destroyed, we are deeply saddened by the countless stories of those impacted by the fires. A state of emergency has been declared in New South Wales and Victoria as we face some of the most dangerous and catastrophic bush fires our nation has ever seen. We’re also seeing destructive fires raging in South Australia.

It is important at times like these, that we get behind the heroes who are fighting and support those affected together.

Here are some places you can support & donate:

Red Cross

They’re currently supporting thousands of people in evacuation centres and recovery hubs across Australia. Since July 2019, Red Cross teams have responded to 30 emergencies (some of which have been going for up to 6 weeks) and supported over 18,600 people, through the efforts of more than 1,590 volunteers and staff.

St Vincent de Paul Society

Vinnies is on the ground helping people as they deal with the immediate aftermath of fires and they will continue to be there as they rebuild their lives in the long term. 100% of your generous donation will be directed to locals affected and will help them to renew, rebuild and restore.

The Salvation Army

If you or someone you know is affected by a disaster, the Salvos are here to support and help. They provide medium and long-term disaster assistance after significant natural or man-made disasters.

CFA (Vic)

A Bushfire Disaster Appeal has been established to support community members affected by the recent bushfires in East Gippsland and Hume. The appeal provides a formal channel for the public to donate money directly to affected communities and is designed to achieve positive outcomes for the community, by working directly with local recovery committees and structures to inform and drive the distribution of funds.

Zoos Victoria

The impact of the bushfires on Australia’s communities, precious wildlife and their habitat is difficult to fathom. Zoos Victoria have vets stationed on the frontline in East Gippsland who are beginning the enormous role of triaging and caring for animals that have survived the fires. 100% of donations to the Bushfire Emergency Wildlife Fund goes towards the impacted animals, including endangered species, to provide veterinary support, and to explore long-term solutions such as supplementary feeding and habitat restoration.
